VOICE OVER: Dan Paradis
Welcome to the thirty-fifth episode of TopX, the http://www.WatchMojo.com show where we countdown the very best that YouTube has to offer! You can vote on future episode topics here: http://WatchMojo.comtopx Today we're putting on our creative survival pants on and checking out the Top 10 Minecraft Channels on YouTube.

#10: TheSyndicateProject
youtube.com/TheSyndicateProject

- Our first pick is a guy who was sorely missed on our British YouTubers countdown, as many of you were quick to point out. At #10 is the TheSyndicateProject, run by Tom Cassell, a.k.a. Tom Syndicate.
- This channel actually did not begin life as a Minecraft channel. Essentially, Tom set it up to begin vlogging, before shifting gears towards gaming. But even then, Minecraft wasn’t his first choice, primarily focusing on Halo and Call of Duty in the earlier videos. It was his switch to Minecraft that is credited with his soaring rise in popularity however, and that’s been the central pillar of his main channel ever since.
- In a little while I’ll point out a few channels that are more kid friendly, but unfortunately this is not the case with TheSyndicateProject – Tom’s strong personality is definitely the selling point of the channel, but it’s also what makes it one that’s more ideal for a more mature audience…
- One last thing I should mention, is that Syndicate is the one who created Mianite, but more on that later.

#9: TheBajanCanadian

- You’ll never be able to guess where our next pick hails from, so I won’t even mention it. At #9 is The Bajan (Bai-jin Canadian) Canadian, also know as Mitchel Donnell-Raplh Hughes.
- Many Mincraft channels excel because of a special theme or challenge their showrunners decide to undertake, and this channel is a prime example. A large portion of his content is based off of competitive micro games within Minecraft itself. For example, he’s run an ongoing series based off the Hunger Games, which now totals over 650 videos and counting…
- It’s also worth mentioning that Mitchel is a former member of Team Crafted, a group of guys that you’ll see a bit more of as we continue with our countdown.

#8: JeromeASF
youtube.com/JeromeASF

- If you’re looking for a Minecraft channel with ENTHUSIASM, look no further, because coming up next is a childhood friend of the BajanCanadian, the irrepressibly energetic JeromeASF.
- Jerome has a large number of ongoing series, each with a decent handful of episodes. These vary from rather simple, beginner stuff like How to Minecraft to more advanced conceptual series Like Minecraft Mod Battles, Minecraft Sky Factory and, for you Pokémon fans, the ultra popular Pixelmon Adventures.
- Being another former member of Team Crafted, you’ll notice a lot of familiar names popping up in his videos. Bajan Canadian is obviously a frequent collaborator, as well as another popular minecrafter who’s coming up later in the countdown.

#7: Yogscast
youtube.com/BlueXephos

- Coming up next is a channel that’s a serious business. Well, actually, it’s not very serious at all, but it is one of the few channels to be incorporated and have a full time staff roster. At #7 is Yogscast, run by Lewis Brindley and Simon Lane.
- One my favorite offshoots of the Yogscast channel is the Yoglab series, where the hosts explore some of the most elaborate and mind bending Minecraft mods out there. For those of you who think you’ve seen it all and feel like vanilla Minecraft is a becoming a bit stale, I defy you to not be surprised by all the crazy crap they come up with here.
- It’s impossible to mention Yogscast without the handful of spinoff channels that fall under the Yogscast Banner. While Simon and Lewis make up the bulk of the content on the original channel, there are a bunch of other channels that follow other personalities on their own. Much like Smosh, this is a channel that’s blossomed into a full on network that attempts to offer something for everyone….So long as that something is in Minecraft.

#6: Ssundee
youtube.com/SSundee

- Nearing the halfway point, we have yet another member of the now disbanded Team Crafted, SSundee, also known in RL as Ian Marcus Stapleton.
- Now, aside from consistency and creativity, the other pillars of the Minecraft community seem to be humor and LOUD NOISES. SSundee is a perfect example of this, as proven by the signature introduction jokes he includes at the beginning of all of his videos.
- SSundee is another great resource for those of you who want to spice up your vanilla Minecraft experience with a few mods. Not only does he play the mods themselves and delve into a lot of themed competitions, but he also reviews the mods and seeds – something that’s surprisingly harder to come by in the spectrum of the larger channels.

#5: PopularMMOs
youtube.com/PopularMMOs

- Coming up next is yet another channel that thinks vanilla is just too darn vanilla…Run by Patrick Brown our #5 pick is the super prolific PopularMMOs.
- I say super prolific because this channel has a huge amount of consistent content, even for a Minecraft channel. I often say it’s remarkable when a channel publishes 1 video a day, but here we have one that publishes 2 a day…which is rather staggering when you think about.
- Now, an increasingly popular trend in Minecraft is crossovers – bringing different characters, elements and themes from other intellectual properties into the blocky realm. With that in mind one of my favorite things from Pat’s channel is his superheroes playlist, where he examines the mods that let you embody your favorite superheroes…usually before smacking down on some heavily modded mobs (that means enemies).

#4: Stampylonghead
youtube.com/stampylonghead

- At #4 we finally have a guy who’s appeared on this show almost as much as I have. Coming up next is the sickeningly cheerful Mr. Stampy!
- Now, I’ve spoken at length about Mr. Stampy’s channel in the past, but I always come back to 2 things. The first is always consistency – he publishes a long video, every day – which is still rather impressive, even when compared to the two a day schedule from our last entry.
- The second is his whimsical, kid friendly nature. I mentioned way back at #10 that not all of these channels are great for kids…usually because of bad language, but Mr. Stampy is one channel that I’m confident is appropriate for all ages.

#3: TheDiamondMinecart
youtube.com/TheDiamondMinecart

- Yet another channel that’s appeared a couple of times on this show, at #3 is the hugely popular DiamondMinecart….I don’t think you can craft those btw…
- As you’ve no doubt noticed by now, it seems that none of the super popular Minecraft channels stick to the bare bones, vanilla content, and TheDiamondMinecart is no exception. Dan Middle, who runs the channel, does the whole gamut of things. He showcases mods, he does Minecraft minigames, he does challenges and attempts to do survival mod in modded biomes.
- One thing I have to say that does separate the DiamondMinecart is the use of ongoing characters – specifically Dr. Trayaurus. If you sort his videos by popularity, you’ll quickly notice that pattern, almost all of the most popular clips feature this strange, long nosed character. What’s most interesting, if not perplexing about this, is that Dan doesn’t address this enigmatic character as another player, but rather as a real person in the game. Weird as this may seem, it’s definitely part of the unique charm that longtime fans of the show enjoy.

#2: Captain Sparklez

Top 10 Things We Want to See in Captain Marvel

- Our runner up today is the person who actually topped our suggest page – the one and only Captain Sparklez.
- There’s one thing that really sets Sparklez apart from his peers, and that’s music videos. Ya, you heard me right, the Cap does fully realized, Minecraft style music videos, often rearranging the lyrics of popular songs to fit a …you guessed it – Minecraft theme. They’re as impressive visually as they are in terms of writing.
- Lately, Captain Sparklez has been delving really deeply in the Mianite server. Now, explaining what this is could take a whole video, but essentially it’s a cooperative, roleplaying server that involves factions, tributes to in game gods, and plenty of shenanigans.
- We would honestly be happy to give the Top Spot to Captain Sparklez, but he also likes to switch up his content a fair amount lately with some stuff that isn’t entirely Minecraft. While this is fine, and certainly understandable, our top spot is gonna have to go to someone that’s all Minecraft all the time. But, before we get to that, here are a few honorable mentions.

#1: SkyDoesMinecraft
youtube.com/SkyDoesMinecraft

- Toppin off our list is yet another member of the group formally know as Team Crafted. Our number 1 pick is Sky Does Minecraft, run by Adam Dalhberg.
- This is one of those channels that’s less focused solely on its creator and host, and more about the various collaborations and group projects he does with others. Taking a cue from other YouTubers outside the Minecraft world, this channel is fun to watch because of the group interactions, rather than the antics of a single maniac. More maniacs! More fun!
- One thing you’ll notice is that there’s nice level of postproduction polish that goes into some of these videos, something that differentiates their videos from other channels. Whether it’s extra animations, music or entirely random effects, a good bit of effort has gone into sprucing up what you’re seeing onscreen – if only to help make the random jokes all the more punchy.

That’s it for our countdown, we hope you struck gold…or diamonds? Anyway, be sure to subscribe to watchmojo.com for more videos, vote on upcoming clips on our suggest page, and check us out on Instagram, Facebook and twitter.
